First Finnish Air Force F-35A Lightning II Arrives at Ebbing Air National Guard Base

The Finnish Air Force's first F-35A Lightning II arrived at Ebbing Air National Guard Base on January 20, 2026, marking the beginning of a two-year training program for approximately 20 pilots. Training will commence in May 2026, featuring both academic and simulator sessions at Eglin Air Force Base, followed by live flight training in Fort Smith, Arkansas, while Finnish maintenance personnel will also be trained at Ebbing. The program is set to conclude by February 2028.
