Fort Hunter Liggett to Modernize 50-Year-Old Water System with $165 Million Project
DEFENSE
Fort Hunter Liggett will modernize its 50-year-old water distribution system with a $165 million project set to begin in fall 2023. The initiative, awarded to Jacobs by the Corps of Engineers, includes installing new piping, valves, a 2-million-gallon storage capacity, and a new well, aiming to comply with the Army's Net Zero - Water initiative and address aging infrastructure issues that have caused frequent service disruptions. The upgraded system will enhance water quality, conservation, and energy resiliency by integrating with the electric micro-grid.
