Fortis Energy has received a construction permit for a 270 MW solar park in Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia, as confirmed by Mayor Branislav Nedimovi. The project will also feature a battery energy storage system (BESS) with 36 MWh capacity.

Following the acquisition of a solar project in Serbia the previous year, Fortis Energy had announced plans for additional energy storage solutions. Construction is slated to commence in spring, with a transmission permit expected within three months. The company also operates various renewable energy projects across the region.
