French companies Naval Group and Thales conducted the first qualification firing of the Multi-purpose and Modular Launching System (MPLS) with a 68 mm laser-guided rocket, marking a significant step in naval defense capabilities. This test confirmed the integration of the guided rocket and the launcher's operational readiness. The MPLS, designed for the French Navy, aims to enhance close-in ship defense and will undergo further land and sea trials throughout 2026.
