France's DGA and Airbus Partner to Enhance Defense Through AI Integration

DEFENSE

The French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA) has signed a framework agreement with Airbus Defense & Space to integrate artificial intelligence into defense systems, valued at 50 million euros. This initiative aims to enhance the technological independence of the French military and boost its competitiveness.

The partnership with the Ministerial Agency for Defense Artificial Intelligence (AMIAD), established in May 2024, focuses on operational security, intelligence, and cyber defense. The Spationav project is advancing maritime surveillance by processing satellite images and sensor data in real-time.

Additionally, Airbus is integrating next-generation AI solutions to improve operational visibility across intelligence and cybersecurity. These efforts include investments in scalable data infrastructures to ensure data integrity and system security. The collaboration aims to strengthen France's defense capabilities while reducing dependency on international supply chains.
