Gadang's Tenaga Aspirasi Signs 25-Year Solar PPA with Sabah Electricity for 15 MWac Project
Gadang Holdings Bhd's subsidiary, Tenaga Aspirasi Sdn Bhd, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd for a large-scale solar photovoltaic project. The facility will have a capacity of 15 Megawatt alternating current (MWac) and is located in Tawau, Sabah.
SPP is responsible for the design, construction, testing, commissioning, ownership, operation, and maintenance of the solar facility. The PPA, effective for 25 years from the expected commercial operation date of November 30, 2026, outlines the terms for the sale and purchase of energy generated.
The agreement is not anticipated to materially affect Gadang's earnings for the fiscal year ending May 31, 2026, but is expected to positively impact future earnings. The project is part of a contract worth RM52 million secured by a consortium including Gadang Engineering and JS Solar.
