GAIL (India) Ltd has signed a non-binding MoU with the Chhattisgarh government to explore the establishment of a 12.7 LMT gas-based urea plant, utilizing the Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda pipeline for feedstock. The project, which aims to boost domestic urea production and reduce import reliance, is projected to require an investment of approximately ₹10,500 crores and create around 3,500 direct jobs. Additionally, the Chhattisgarh Skill Tech initiative is expected to attract over ₹13,690 crores in investment proposals, generating more than 12,000 employment opportunities across various sectors.
