On December 18, a natural gas pipeline operated by IndianOil-Adani Gas Pvt Ltd (IOAGPL) leaked during excavation work for a flyover service road in Alto-Dabolim. The incident, reported at 9:50 AM, was caused by a JCB machine operated by a contractor for the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) that accidentally damaged the pipeline.

Local fire and emergency services responded after residents reported a strong gas smell. IOAGPL authorities quickly shut down the pipeline as a precaution and successfully plugged the leak, with no injuries or major damage reported. The situation was controlled promptly, averting any danger to life and property.
