Gas Storage Denmark is initiating a maturation project for CO2 storage at its Stenlille natural gas facility by mid-2025. The project aims to establish the technical, regulatory, and commercial framework for the safe and permanent storage of captured CO₂ in the sandstone reservoir at the site.

A primary focus is to understand the compatibility of the new CO₂ storage facility with the existing natural gas operations, ensuring that ongoing gas storage is not compromised. The company will engage closely with Danish authorities throughout this process.
