General Electric (GE) Aerospace has agreed to supply 20 F404 engines annually to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) starting in FY 2026, supporting India's 'Make in India' initiative. This commitment aims to address supply chain challenges for the TEJAS MK-1A aircraft and aligns with HAL's production goals while promoting 80% indigenisation. The partnership is expected to enhance India's aerospace capabilities, create over 1,000 jobs, and support future programs like the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA).
