General Catalyst is increasing its investment in India, focusing on artificial intelligence (AI), spacetech, and defense technology. The firm plans to invest in manufacturing, defense, and deeptech, actively negotiating early-stage financing rounds, including a $3 million seed round for AI company Omli Kids and $4 million to $5 million for healthcare startup OpenEvidence.

General Catalyst has a portfolio that includes investments in industrial and defense startups, such as a $100 million financing of drone maker Raphe mPhibr and potential lead on a $15 million to $20 million round for defense tech startup Constelli. The company aims to develop partnerships with large Indian conglomerates to integrate startup innovations into mass production, enhancing India's role in global supply chains. Additionally, the General Catalyst Institute in India will help promote a regulatory environment conducive to innovation, supporting the country's strategic focus on key sectors.
