General Dynamics to Deliver 225 Pandur Evolution APCs to Austria by 2032
General Dynamics European Land Systems-Steyr (GDELS) announced the readiness of the first nine out of 225 ordered 'Pandur Evolution' armored personnel carriers, part of a 1.8 billion euro contract with the Austrian Ministry of Defense set to be completed by 2032. The order includes twelve vehicle variants, with 36 equipped for drone defense using the 'Skyranger' system.
The 'Pandur Evolution' vehicles will support infantry units and operations in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Additionally, GDELS will modernize the first 'Ulan' armored vehicles, with 18 out of 112 undergoing upgrades expected to finish by 2030 at a cost of 370 million euros. This initiative is part of Austria's military 'Development Plan 2032+', involving over 200 local companies, and GDELS aims to increase its workforce from 270 to 300 by 2026.
