Genesis Mission to Launch First Supercomputers by June for AI-Driven Science

QUANTUM COMPUTINGDATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

The Genesis Mission, initiated by the U.S. Department of Energy, is set to launch its first two supercomputers by June. The program aims to utilize AI for scientific advancements, with 10,000 GPU systems from Nvidia and HPE-AMD at Argonne and Oak Ridge labs.

Led by Darío Gil, the initiative will develop a common platform for AI in science and engineering, curating data sets and enhancing workflows. With $265 million in funding secured, the project envisions further HPC system expansions and quantum computing advancements.
