Germany and Israel Sign 2026 Energy Partnership Program Focusing on Innovation and Security
On December 16-17, 2025, German Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Katherina Reiche visited Israel to discuss innovation, high technology, and energy security. The trip included meetings with Israeli ministers and the startup ecosystem, featuring visits to the Israel Innovation Authority and the Israel Quantum Computing Center in Tel Aviv.
Reiche signed the 2026 work program of the German-Israeli Energy Partnership with Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen, emphasizing energy security with new focuses on cybersecurity and physical protection of energy infrastructure. Additionally, a new initiative called 'Ready to invest' was introduced to strengthen young German and Israeli high-tech companies, offering programs for science-based startups to prepare for growth investments and international scaling.
