Germany Establishes 5 LNG Terminals to Secure Gas Supply Post-Russian Imports
NATURAL GAS
Germany is establishing five liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals to secure its gas supply following the end of Russian imports. These terminals, located in Wilhelmshaven, Brunsbüttel, Stade, Mukran, and Lubmin, are projected to provide approximately 69 terawatt-hours of gas in 2024, representing about 8% of total imports, with the capacity to supply over 30 billion cubic meters annually. Wilhelmshaven will serve as the main hub, featuring two floating storage and regasification units aimed at enhancing the country's energy security.
