Germany has launched a €3 billion subsidy program for low- and middle-income households to encourage electric vehicle purchases, retroactively covering registrations from January 1, 2026. The subsidies, ranging from €1,500 to €6,000 based on vehicle type and household income, aim to support approximately 800,000 vehicles over the next few years while also extending the electric vehicle tax exemption until 2035.
