GH2 Solar Begins Construction of 105 MW Alkaline Electrolyser Plant in Madhya Pradesh
GH2 Solar has commenced construction of a 105 MW/year alkaline electrolyser manufacturing plant in Madhya Pradesh, aiming to expand capacity to 500 MW/year. The plant is developed in collaboration with South Korea's AHES and UK-based Rhizome2, receiving approximately 1.6 billion rupees ($17.8 million) from India's second electrolyser manufacturing subsidy round.
GH2 Solar plans to establish its own renewable hydrogen production facilities, targeting an output of 10,500 tons/year with three-year subsidies. Challenges include project bankability, the need for stable offtake agreements, and reliance on imports for critical components.
The company aims for a fully indigenous manufacturing ecosystem, with plans for high localization of parts. Civil works are underway, with pilot production expected by late 2026 and full operations in 2027, focusing initially on domestic decarbonization and later expanding into green ammonia and other derivatives.
