Ghana's Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has called on the private sector to support the government's Free Sanitary Pad Initiative, which aims to provide free sanitary pads to over two million schoolgirls to combat period poverty and reduce absenteeism. The initiative, allocated GH¢292.4 million in the 2026 Budget, was launched on April 24, 2025, with Opoku-Agyemang emphasizing the crucial role of private partnerships in enhancing productivity and job creation.
