Gig Harbor is moving forward with the Commercial Fishing Homeport project, seeking contractor bids in spring 2025 and aiming for completion by year-end. The project, which includes a public dock for 17 commercial fishing boats at Ancich Waterfront Park, has a budget of $3,480,000, supported by donations and grants. An updated mitigation plan from the Army Corps of Engineers has been accepted, paving the way for prefabrication work to begin in summer 2025.
