Gliders India Limited, based in Kanpur, has secured a Rs 26 crore contract from Vietnam to supply 274 specialized parachutes for fighter jets, enhancing India's defense export capabilities. This deal follows a previous order of Rs 17 crore in 2023, underscoring the company's growing global presence. The parachutes, designed for the Sukhoi-30 aircraft, are manufactured to international standards and undergo rigorous testing, with each brake parachute weighing nearly 23 kgs and capable of handling landing speeds up to 300 km/h.
