Global South Utilities (GSU) has acquired a 51% stake in 40Capital, a renewable energy firm focused on run-of-the-river hydro projects in Kyrgyzstan, during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026. This acquisition marks GSU's entry into the Kyrgyz market and aims to enhance energy security through low-carbon electricity projects. GSU plans to leverage its expertise in energy infrastructure while retaining 40Capital's existing management for effective project execution and local partnerships.
