Granite Renewables is in discussions to establish a hyperscale data center in Logan County, Colorado, potentially requiring up to two gigawatts of electricity. This investment could reach $15 billion and create up to 1,000 construction jobs along with 50 to 100 permanent technical roles.

The proposed site spans approximately 4,000 acres and would utilize renewable energy sources like solar power and natural gas. Logan County has imposed a moratorium on data centers and battery storage to develop regulations before proceeding.

The county's planning commission is set to review new regulations on January 6. Currently, Colorado lags in hyperscale data center development compared to states like Virginia and Texas. If constructed, the facility would significantly impact local economic development and tax revenue.
