Greek Parliament Approves 2026 Budget with 159 Votes in Favor

DEFENSE

The Greek Parliament approved the 2026 budget with 159 votes for and 136 against. SYRIZA MP Nina Kassimati voted in favor of defense expenditures despite her party's opposition. Overall, defense spending was approved by 216 MPs, with 75 against. Three independents, Konstantinos Floros, Charalampos Katsivardas, and Giorgos Aspiotis, joined the 156 MPs of New Democracy in supporting the budget.
