Greenpeace Supports Reconstruction of Renewable Energy Building in Trostianets, Ukraine
In Trostianets, Ukraine, a five-story residential building at 53 Blahovischenska Street has been reconstructed with support from Greenpeace, following its destruction during the Russian occupation. This project marks Ukraine's first green reconstruction of a multi-apartment building, transitioning it to renewable energy with a heat pump and solar power plant.
The total cost is EUR 218,000. Restoration began in 2023 and aims for completion by New Year. The project is part of a state program and an international partnership, contributing to Trostianets' roadmap toward a fossil gas-free city. The New Balance Trostianets master plan, which includes strategies for centralized heat supply and renewable energy expansion, was developed by various Austrian firms and independent experts, proposing significant solar energy utilization.
