Guatemala's PEG-5 Tender Attracts 51 Bidders for 4.7 GW Capacity

Guatemala's PEG-5 electricity tender received 51 bids offering nearly 4.7 GW, exceeding the 1,400 MW target. The Ministry of Energy and Mines initiated this tender to secure firm capacity for distributors EEGSA and Energuate.
The proposals include around 2,000 MW of solar projects and 700 MW of thermal projects. Contracts may last up to 15 years, with potential investments exceeding $3.7 billion.
