The Gumi Defense Venture Center has expanded to become the Gyeongbuk Defense Venture Center as of January 1, 2026, creating a support hub for defense companies across Gyeongbuk. A signboard ceremony was held on February 12, attended by approximately 40 officials.

Since its inception in 2014, the center has facilitated KRW 1.6 trillion in defense sales and created 1,000 jobs by partnering with 103 SMEs. The center plans to sign agreements with 19 new companies in 2026 and aims to strengthen the local defense industry ecosystem.
