The Government of Guyana is soliciting bids from Indian firms for the revival of the Amaila Falls Hydropower project, which aims to produce over 165 megawatts of electricity. The project, initially proposed in 2011 and hindered by previous delays, will follow a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) model, with interested companies required to demonstrate experience in completing three hydro projects of at least 100MW each. Prequalification submissions are due by February 17, 2026.
