HENSOLDT has been tasked by the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment to enhance the ASUL counter-drone system by integrating kinetic countermeasures, following a sensor technology update in early 2025. This upgrade will incorporate the KONGSBERG weapon station and a new command container for improved coordination, allowing ASUL to provide effective area security against UAS threats. Since its deployment in 2022, ASUL has gained valuable operational experience, and HENSOLDT continues to expand its modular capabilities.
