Honda Recalls CR-V e:FCEV in US for Fuel Cell Stack Coolant Leak Issue

FUEL CELL

Honda is recalling the CR-V e:FCEV in the US due to a potential coolant leak in the fuel cell stack that could cause electrical short circuits. The issue is linked to reduced adhesive sealant and an inadequate deburring process for the O-ring groove in the supplier's wobble joint.

If coolant leaks, it may trigger ground fault warnings, potentially reducing the vehicle's power output to 20 kilowatts (27 horsepower) and displaying warnings in the instrument cluster. The affected vehicles were produced between June 2024 and March 2025.

Honda first learned of the issue through a warranty claim in November 2024, following which an investigation confirmed the coolant leakage condition in January 2025. The supplier, Fuel Cell System Manufacturing, corrected the problem by May 2025. Dealers were notified on December 12, 2025, with customer notifications expected by February 2, 2026.
