The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has condemned Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma for not fulfilling his promise of uninterrupted electricity supply, affecting the majority of residents who cannot afford alternative power sources. The group reported that families spent an average of N250,000 on fuel during the Christmas season, while many businesses struggled due to ongoing power shortages. HURIWA also called for enhancements in rural healthcare, infrastructure, and security, alongside the establishment of a human rights monitoring commission for local vigilante groups.
