Hydra Drones has secured £4 million ($5.4 million) in funding to advance the development of its HYDRA-400 heavy-lift drone, capable of carrying payloads up to 400 kilograms with a hybrid jet-electric propulsion system. This investment will finalize research and development, paving the way for mass production after five years of engineering work, with strategic backing from MBDA. The drone is designed for diverse applications, including defense, humanitarian aid, and logistics, and was recently showcased at the DSEI 2023 defense exhibition.
