ICC Aims for One-Third Market Share in Tactical Footwear by 2030 Amid Six International Bids
ICC - Indústrias e Comércio de Calçado, owner of Lavoro, aims to capture one-third of the national market for tactical boots by 2030. The company, based in Guimarães, is currently involved in six bids, five of which are for international markets.
It is investing €5 million to expand production capacity, anticipating a 15-20% increase in its current workforce of 220 employees. ICC expects to achieve a revenue of €25 million by the end of 2025. The company is responding to increased defense budgets in Europe and Portugal, viewing this as a strategic opportunity.
ICC's Lavoro brand has developed the COSMICC boot range and is familiar with the defense sector, having previously created the SAS tactical boot used by the Portuguese Army. The company also plans to expand its facilities from 4,000 to 10,000 square meters, integrating renewable energy and advanced production technologies, with completion expected by mid-2026.
