Indian Army Opens First Additive Manufacturing Centre 'Rachnalaya' at MCEME in Secunderabad

The Indian Army has launched its first Additive Manufacturing Centre of Excellence named 'Rachnalaya' at the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) in Secunderabad. This facility will enable advanced metal and polymer 3D printing of critical spare parts for the Indian Army's equipment.

The opening, led by Lt General Devendra Sharma, signifies a significant advancement in self-reliance, lifecycle support, and operational preparedness. During the visit, Lt General Sharma was briefed on MCEME's initiatives related to the Indian Army's transformation, focusing on innovation and indigenisation in technologies such as AI, ML, and drones. He also recognized veterans and serving soldiers with commendation cards for their contributions.
