Indian Navy's First Indigenous Cadet Training Ship 'Krishna' Launched in Chennai

DEFENSE

The Indian Navy launched its first indigenous Cadet Training Ship, 'Krishna', built by L&T Shipyard, in Chennai. The ship, named after the River Krishna, will provide basic sea training to Navy cadets and can also serve as a hospital ship and for evacuation operations. The contract for three such ships was signed in March 2023.
