India's Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) unveiled a high-power microwave directed energy weapon prototype designed to counter unmanned aircraft systems during the 2026 International Conference on Electronic Warfare. Developed by the Microwave Tube Research and Development Centre, the system can disable small UAVs at a range of 1 km, with plans for a target kill range of 5 km in future trials. Testing is anticipated to conclude by June 2026.
