The Indian Ministry of Defence has signed contracts worth ₹4,666 crore for close quarter battle (CQB) carbines and heavy weight torpedoes, aimed at enhancing military capabilities. The agreements include a ₹2,770 crore deal for over 425,000 CQB carbines with Bharat Forge Ltd and PLR Systems Pvt Ltd, and a ₹1,896 crore contract with WASS Submarine Systems SRL for 48 torpedoes for Kalvari-class submarines, part of a broader modernization initiative.
