DEFENSE
Ireland is set to order over €1 billion worth of armored vehicles from French manufacturer KNDS. The procurement includes Jaguar reconnaissance vehicles, Serval light armored vehicles, Griffon personnel carriers, and Caesar artillery units.
The contract signing may coincide with French Armed Forces Minister Catherine Vautrin's visit to Dublin, anticipated in late March or early April. Ireland aims to replace its aging fleet of Swiss and South African vehicles by 2030, and is also considering additional defense technology purchases from French firms.
