Iroko Africa has partnered with the Geothermal Development Company (GDC) to commercialize geothermal steam for industrial applications in Kenya, focusing on feasibility studies at the Menengai wells in Nakuru. This initiative aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lower energy costs for manufacturers, while the Menengai Geothermal-Powered Industrial Park seeks to enhance job creation and promote green industrialization in the region. GDC's direct-use technology has been successfully implemented in various projects since 2015, aligning with Kenya's goal of achieving 5 GW of geothermal capacity by 2030.
