Iron Oak Energy Acquires Superior Silica Sands, Doubles Eagle Ford Shale Capacity
Iron Oak Energy Solutions LLC has acquired Superior Silica Sands LLC in an all-stock transaction, enhancing its position in the Eagle Ford Shale. The acquisition adds over three million tons per year of production capacity, bringing Iron Oak Energy's total to approximately 40 million tons annually.
This is Iron Oak's third acquisition in 2025, expanding its operational network to three production sites in the Eagle Ford basin. The Superior Silica facility is strategically located to complement Iron Oak's existing plants, improving supply reliability and customer service.
The acquisition supports increasing proppant demand in both the oil and natural gas sectors and broadens Iron Oak's commercial reach into construction and sports sand markets. Iron Oak Energy also operates five facilities in the Permian Basin and three Northern White sand facilities.
