Isaac Balami University of Aeronautics and Management in Lagos State plans to design and construct Nigeria's first indigenous aircraft by 2027, utilizing original designs from students and faculty with support from UK and US professors. The university will offer 11 courses, starting with aerospace engineering and mechatronics, and aims to produce aircraft for security purposes, benefiting agencies like the police and Navy. The inaugural class, consisting of 60 students—54 of whom are sponsored by the Borno State Government—will have its matriculation ceremony in March, with aspirations to attract international students.
