Italian Fighter Jets Intercept Rare Russian Be-200PS Aircraft Over Baltic Sea

Italian Eurofighter Typhoon jets intercepted a Russian Be-200PS amphibious aircraft over the Baltic Sea on January 16. The Be-200PS is primarily used for firefighting and maritime patrol, and is capable of carrying up to 72 passengers or 12 tons of water. The intercepted aircraft, manufactured in 2020, is one of a limited number operated by the Russian Navy.
