IWI Partners with Adani Defence to Enhance India's Military Capabilities and Local Manufacturing
Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) has strategically invested in local manufacturing in India for over a decade to align with the Government of India's 'Make in India' initiative. This commitment has allowed IWI to adapt its products to meet Indian defence needs, including small arms and advanced systems.
IWI has partnered with Adani Defence, focusing on enhancing manufacturing and technology transfer, with plans to export globally. Upcoming deliveries include Light Machine Guns (LMGs) and CQB carbines, alongside collaborations with India's Ministry of Home Affairs.
IWI plans to launch new products, including a computerised counter-drone system (ARBEL) and enhanced small arms technologies by 2026. The NEGEV ARBEL system aims to improve precision in weaponry. IWI continues to balance local indigenisation with technological superiority while responding to evolving global conflicts and battlefield demands.
