Jakson Engineers and Ecoprogetti to Establish India's First Solar PV Module Recycling Plant

SOLAR ENERGY

Jakson Engineers Ltd (JEL) has signed a contract with Ecoprogetti SRL to establish India's first high-tech solar PV module recycling plant. The facility will recycle approximately 300 MW of solar panels annually, equivalent to over 500,000 modules or around 13,500 tonnes per year.

It will process 60 panels per hour and manage nearly 1.62 tonnes of material per hour. The plant will recover materials such as aluminium, glass, silicon, copper, and silver, reducing reliance on virgin resources and promoting a circular solar ecosystem.

This investment aligns with India's commitment to sustainable energy and responsible lifecycle management of solar power. Jakson also recently initiated a 6 GW integrated solar manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh with an investment exceeding ₹8,000 crore.
