Kabalega International Airport is set to be handed over to Uganda's Ministry of Works and Transport in March 2026, following the completion of contractor obligations by SBC. The airport, which began construction in 2018 and faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will feature a Mobile Air Traffic Control Tower, a meteorological structure, and a 2.5 MW hydropower substation, with plans for solar power for security lighting. The facility will accommodate four large cargo planes and over ten average-sized planes.
