Kakamega County Residents Demand Accountability for Stalled Development Projects

DEFENSE

Residents of Kakamega County are demanding accountability from local officials over stalled development projects, which have left them without essential services for over five years. During a public hearing on the 2026/2027 Annual Development Plan, they criticized the governor and Members of County Assembly for unmet promises and inadequate oversight. The Senate Standing Committee has also highlighted issues with delayed projects, including the Bukhungu stadium and the Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital, which is now expected to be completed by the National government within six months under military supervision.
