Kalashnikov Concern Announces Redesign of AK-12 Assault Rifle Based on Combat Feedback

Kalashnikov Concern has announced a redesign of the AK-12 assault rifle, incorporating combat feedback from Ukraine, with the updated model being a third-generation version tested in 2023. The company plans to increase production, having delivered a batch of AK-12Ks in October 2025, and holds a contract for over 40,000 units to be delivered by early 2023. Additionally, Azerbaijani and Russian defense officials are discussing military cooperation and scheduled visits for 2026.
