Rep. Hwang Myung-sun has initiated a significant investment plan to develop Nonsan City into a hub for Korea's advanced defense industry, focusing on R&D and production. On December 17, Hwang met with KDI CEO Jeong Jeong-mo, who presented plans for a KRW 200 billion investment aimed at establishing facilities for unmanned systems, including drones, AI, and robots.

This investment marks a shift from conventional weapons to next-generation systems, addressing local safety concerns while aiming to revitalize the economy and create jobs.
