Keel Holdings Invests $22 Million in Precision Machining and Leadership Enhancements for Defense Production
Keel Holdings, LLC announced a $22 million investment in advanced precision machining capacity to support defense programs. This investment includes the purchase of four high-speed, precision 5-axis machining centers from EMCO, to be installed in its 160,000 square-foot facility in Merrill, MI.
The machines, operational between March 2026 and June 2027, will enable a three-shift operation and necessitate hiring 18 additional CNC operators. This initiative is part of Keel's broader expansion efforts, which also include a $67 million investment in its South Carolina shipyard. Additionally, Keel has made key leadership appointments to enhance operational discipline and quality systems, ensuring the company can effectively support critical defense initiatives.
