The Kenyan government is set to electrify 7,377 households in Embu County at a cost of Sh805 million, with nearly half of the funding directed to Mbeere North Constituency, which has struggled with electricity access. This initiative is part of the Last Mile Connectivity Programme, aiming to connect 2,450 households initially, and includes plans for an additional Sh600 million to connect another 4,000 households and public facilities. The project, announced by State Department for Energy PS Alex Wachira, is supported by REREC and KETRACO, with expedited procurement processes underway.
