Kenya Navy Launches Exercise JITEGEMEE XXVII to Enhance Maritime Security Training

The Kenya Navy has initiated Exercise JITEGEMEE XXVII to train junior officers and bolster maritime security in the Western Indian Ocean. Flagged off by Major General Paul Otieno in Mombasa, the exercise involves ships KNS JASIRI and KNS SHUPAVU, emphasizing practical training and operational readiness.

Participants will also engage in Exercise Cutlass Express 2026 in Seychelles, enhancing regional cooperation against maritime threats. The Kenya-led Operation Bahari Moja aims to unify maritime forces from Seychelles, Mauritius, and Madagascar to combat illegal activities.
